Younited

Due to the increasing number of online storage services and other transfer and storage methods, misplacing files can be quite easy. If you have multiple cloud folders, you might forget where you placed some old photos and you would need to log into each account, one by one, to look for them. In this regard, Younited can make your life much easier. Its functionality is similar to well known synchronization services, like Dropbox or Google Drive, but it offers better security and it makes it easier to locate your photos, videos, music, documents or any other files. Furthermore, it can be linked to other cloud folders, to bring all their contents together, so the application is not called "Younited" for nothing.

Younited is absolutely free and it is available for Windows and Mac OS X platforms, as well as iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices. The application doesn't require any additional tools and it doesn't use too many resources. It can be installed quickly without any effort, but you have to reserve a spot first and wait for a confirmation email, which takes about 24 hours to arrive.

Unlike other synchronization services, Younited provides a desktop user interface. Thanks to its clean and efficient layout, files can be managed without any effort, regardless if they are originally from your local folders or another device. You can load your data with a standard Open dialog, by dragging and dropping the files over the interface or by sending them to the Younited folder in Windows Explorer. The loaded data is neatly categorized on the user interface, based on file type. You can view all files on the same page, or select a filter, on the left side of the window, to show nothing but music, videos, images, documents, messages or other contents.

The application's familiar functionality makes it quite easy to synchronize files across multiple platforms. You can link multiple computers and mobile devices to your Younited account, by installing the application on those machines and logging. Any files you load on the user interface or copy to the Younited folder will be made available on all platforms immediately, without any messages or prompts. Although the files are displayed on the same page, regardless of where they come from, their sources are indicated by small icons, which appear on their thumbnails.

Linked computers and devices are listed on the left side of the interface, beneath the filters. Besides computers, mobile phones or tablets, the application allows you tto add other sources as well, such as Dropbox, Facebook or Picasa. Linking these services to Younited takes only a few seconds and once they are added, their contents will appear on the same user interface right away, on all computers and mobile devices.

Sharing files with other people, who don't use Younited, is also easy. You can send your files by email, post them on Facebook or Twitter or share them via direct link.
